Background

Life for me began in 1977 in the Midlands and has been a weird and wonderful trip ever since. From an early age I became fascinated with learning and taking part in anything creative, spending every spare moment absorbed in all manner of comic books, novels and drawing for hours on end.

My teenage years were possibly the very best time I've ever had. I discovered my first skateboard when I was 11 and from that point on I was hooked.

The feeling of the ground rumbling underneath my feet felt so right, and this one activity, more than any other defined that period so clearly.

The endless hours at Victoria park, Kemley house blocks, sainsbury's curbs, the college and tesco's car park feel like they happened only yesterday and not over a decade ago. The intensity of that period, the freshness of each moment and the feeling of being unbelievably alive still resonate to this day.

Since those days I've racked up a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, a PGCE in further education and other assorted qualifications, been involved in sculpture commissions, worked as a freelancer developing web applications for small businesses, moved from the dead little northern city I got stuck in after University, taught at colleges and schools and am now looking forward to pushing the limits of my creativity and seeing how far my ideas can be taken in both digital and non-digital media
