What a huge win for Cain Velasquez at UFC 110. Beating Antonio Nogueira is no easy task but to demolish him within the first round using only punches without Nogueira even being able to do muster a defense is incredible. Would love to see Velasquez fighting Lesnar. Given the UFC's current heavyweight crop I give him the only chance of toppling the heavyweight champion.

Interesting to see the lengths that Apple goes to in order to safeguard information surrounding its products, including even their existence.

Interesting breakdown on the relationship between corporate ownership/guidance of open source software and the problems of creating sustainable revenue models.

It figures that something this insane would be conducted under research conducted for military applications. Even more frightening is the possibility that should such research actually bear fruit that the scope for cellular control of ALL living organisms is a reality that certain powerful interests would be keen to implement.

Couture dominates Coleman. Despite all the naysayers dismissing the fight and the win based on each opponent's age I still find it impressive that Randy Couture is not only ultra-competitive but also winning his fights. Who would have thought that a 46 year old man would still be able to make waves in the toughest sport in the world?

IBM demonstrates 100Ghz chip. Not sure how practical this would be in a real world scenario given other hardware components and the bottlenecks they might create for such a chip. That said, 100Ghz is pretty damn impressive not to mention the fact that it's cool at room temperature.

Transporting energy via quantum teleportation? Granted it's not exactly Star Trek but the implications are fascinating.

Couture vs Coleman! I know a lot of MMA fans have pretty much written this one off as a novelty match but I'm excited to see 2 of the sports original pioneers matching up in the present day. Who takes the win? Hard to say. I'm edging towards Couture but I would not be surprised if Coleman pulled out the stops and took the overall decision. Only a few more hours until we find out!

No words will ever be able to express the disgust and contempt with which I hold our so-called elected representatives in, particularly with regards to the statement from the UK transport Secretary referring to compulsory body scans when selected at UK airports. Hell, even in the USA you have the option of a strip search instead (which is bad enough but preferable to potentially DNA damaging/cancer causing millimeter wave scanners.)

I guess the New World Order is running full tilt to make it to the finishing line that they set up for themselves all those years ago.

This really does not surprise me. It seems like the paranoia over security is driving all kinds of 'partnerships' although I suspect it's to make data sharing/analysis easier and quicker for the so-called intelligence community. Given the Patriot Act (and similar laws/security measures enacted in countries outside the USA) and the media's endless stream of fear-based reporting it seems that we're all suspects now. Whatever happened to civil liberties, privacy and the clear boundary line between the state and the individual?

The ever mercurial Steve Jobs. Love or loathe Apple and its chairman you have to respect his tell-it-like-it-is approach.
