So, the rumours were true. No red herring this time round. Interesting to see just how 'useful' this is going to be, not to mention robust.
Interesting to see Fedor ranked ahead of Floyd Mayweather Junior in the 100 most powerful athletes index
I remember seeing photos of this guy ripping in 1989 when I started getting into skateboarding. Unbelievable, but oh so cool, to see him still ripping 20 years later.
It's amazing when you look back at certain periods that defined your life so clearly and realise (with a sense of shock) that they are 17 - 21 years ago. Makes me think about all the people from that period and what went down in various parts of the town that I grew up in. How the many sessions that took place in those spots were sadly never captured on film. All the old faces, some of whom are sadly, no longer with us. Thinking about it now makes me realise just how amazingly rich and intense that period in my life actually was. I very seriously doubt I'd be where I am today if I hadn't been part of that whole experience.
Lots of front end web development work right now and not enough personal time. That said I am loving, with what little time I do have, seeing the CMS redeployment for some of my digital projects take shape.
Just got one of my clients to the number 2 spot in Google UK for the search term Specialist cleaning and removals. Pretty good going given the competition!
This Flickr photo set of celebrity yearbook photos is pretty cool. What's really interesting about it is, assuming you know who certain celebrities are, the way that certain individuals there don't seem to have aged at all (particularly Obama)
The recent news regarding Google potentially considering closing it's business operations in China is pretty huge and, let's be brutally honest here, about time. For a company whose motto is Do no evil it's always struck me as morally dubious that they would allow censoring of particular search terms and websites to help support a country whose government is renowned for numerous human rights violations.
Loving seeing all the different things I've been learning over the last year or so coming together in my CMS. Seeing it in action (minus the inevitable bugs, which are a part of any web/software project) makes all those long hours/coding headaches more than worthwhile.
Probably the most humbling and inspiring speech of the last decade.
Rampage vs Evans tentatively set for May. Funny thing is I was under the impression that Rampage had quit the sport altogether. What is going on?
The iSlate? Be interesting to see whether the rumours are proved true. I first heard this one 4 years ago and it still hasn't materialised. I wonder if this will be yet another red herring?
You can never be too sure of what's true and what isn't when it comes to the world of internet reports but this article shedding potential light on the connections behind the recent plane bomber scare makes for some very interesting reading.
Dr Mercola is always a safe bet for reliable and trustworthy health information, especially when the dangers of popular 'diet' supplements/additives are exposed in their true light.
Still some tinkering, here and there, that needs to be done with this site but that's all par for the course I guess. Can't wait to see the final product working as expected, particularly when it involves all the learning I've accumulated over the last 12 months.
US Government involvement in Time Travel confirmed?
I remember watching Jesse Ventura on the WCW broadcast back in '92 and not thinking a great deal of the guy. Watching him now in his quest for answers over 9/11 and his openness in confronting what he considers to be Government/Corporate lies/collusion is something else.
Watching how he handles reporters with regards to 9/11 is pretty phenomenal and desperately needed in a time where the mainstream media just doesn't ask the questions it should.
I love this swipe taken at Dana White from Dan Henderson.
How much longer before Overeem squares off against Fedor? Guaranteed that his recent win over a less than stellar Fujita isn't a sure fire pass to that match but given his string of victories over the last 2 years it's hard to see this one not happening.
Deflecting planet killing asteroids or upping the ante against the US missile shield?
Security predictions for the New Year is never a surprise, particularly from software vendors looking to make further sales. That said, it's going to be interesting to see whether the Rich Internet Application landscape will suffer the following predicted outcomes for 2010.
Expect more intrusive 'security' measures such as these in the totally fraudulent war on terror. Boy, am I glad that we are losing ever more civil liberties and freedom just to be safe from the bad guys. Viva liberty!
Almost 3 hours into 2010. What happened to 2009? It's all becoming a bit of a blur in recent years. No sooner has the New Year started before it's over. That's how it feels. Time just seems to be speeding up. Looking back over the last 12 months and it's crazy to see how much has changed. Crazy but inspiring too. I'm running my own business now, I've made some fantastic friends, my skill sets are growing on a daily basis and I'm punching out work on a quality I've never been able to reach before.
It's been a rewarding period on so many levels but tough too. The effects of the recession combined with living in an expensive city doesn't make money go far. Weeding out elements in my life that are unproductive and draining has been a challenge. People who think they're owed something even after you've delivered and then just waste your time with their own ineptitude and egotism. Yeah, you know who you are and yes I am glad I no longer work with you. Fuckin' prick. Great to see your mask slip and the real face become exposed. So many people like you. Never having their act together then piling all the shit up on others when it suits them.
That was the things about 2009. So much weeding out. Like a 12 month calorie reduction programme, people who don't matter are shed away like the excess that they are. Stripping away all the none essentials. Never a bad thing.
Looking forward to this year though. So many things to do and see. So many ideas waiting to be put into practice. Should be exciting to see how far I can push those creative boundaries over the next 12 months and what avenues that may take me down.
