I thought it was just another cynical move by jaded studio execs to cash in on yet another revised craze. Now that I've actually seen the movie, on DVD, I must admit it's nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be (even if a lot of the characters have been changed from their original incarnations) and is actually very, very funny.
