Am loving reconnecting with New Model Army, a band I used to listen to constantly in my teens. The fact they've been around for close to 32 years just blows my mind. Add to that their music just gets better and better as they continue to evolve and that's super impressive as most bands don't do that as they 'age'.
Given the utter shite that's spouted from almost every corner of the mainstream media it's refreshing to still discover music out there that's both creative and engaging and speaks on the levels that matter the most.
Incredible to look back at the person I was 5 years ago and contrast that with where I am now and see how certain limitations that I used to accept are no longer tolerable or present. The experiences, both challenging and rewarding, throughout that period that have helped to define me. The people I have met. The places I have seen. The things I have achieved. There's been more in terms of personal growth and life experience in that period than in the previous 12 years.
